The Witnesses

The new musical, THE WITNESSES is part two of The Rock & The Rabbi trilogy. The Witnesses tells the story of the birth of the church as seen through the eyes of Peter and Paul. Through music and storytelling, the audience experiences what it was like to live through those exciting times. The Witnesses features a stage-full of acoustic and percussion instruments-- from guitars, accordions and cellos to African and Irish drums. Talented musicians and singers from New York City, Nashville, Orlando, and Tampa Bay bring the rich score to life in a very theatrical manner. A storyteller shares his first-person experiences with the dangers and wonders that comprise life in the first century.

The visual concept was “The Witnesses are Coming.” Making use of a silhouettes, the idea is the witnesses are sent out by The Light of the World (Jesus) to herald His message. The Light behind them, urging them on into the darkness of shadows, captures the mystery of those early days.
